now we realize how different the early August crop and the late Sept. Crop look!! Next year we will set some of the early honey aside....basswood and clover dominate the early honey...before the Goldenrod and Fall Flowers...

we did our first TV6 Christmas Craft Show at the Superior Dome in Marquette, MI this weekend...fun event...met lots of wonderful new customers, old friends and honey lovers :)

harvest fest, Hayward, WI

Great day in Hayward, WI at Harvest Festival! Sold art, honey balms and soap--met some wonderful people and enjoyed the sunshine :)

labor day and the very large pumpkin

very nice sales this weekend at the honey house and in Ontonagon. Also, the pumpkins have been liking the rainy weather. Giant pumpkin starts from Peg: largest is at least 80 pounds!

Honey is in!!

We did some early honey spinning and ended up with about 30 gallons~from about 12 supers...just a preview of what is to come! Here are some images from the past several days.

Labor Day Open House

Greetings from the Beeyard!

Thank you to everyone who came out during our July open houses at the Algomah Acres Honey House! It was wonderful to hear so many stories about the church's past and to discuss plans for the future of the building and business. Well, the bees have been working overtime and we are ready to spin some honey! We plan to have some bottled and for sale during the Labor Day Weekend. One of us will be downtown Ontonagon for Maxwell Street Days (look for us by the Flower Garden) and we will also have the Honey House open in Greenland with Soap, Honey, Candles and Art for sale.

Honey House Hours will be:

Saturday Sept. 4th from 12-4 PM
Sunday Sept. 5th from 12-4 PM

Downtown Ontonagon Booth: Saturday Sept. 4th from 9AM-4PM

A wonderful day at the honey house open house! Huge thanks to all who came to enjoy the day with us...musicians Dale Venema, Erin Luoto (and guest), and the Peg Carrothers and the 4-H choir! We are truly blessed...hope we have another great turn-out tomorrow....and next weekend.
